Barrage!
OK, I don't have them all so I really don't know but IMO it is the most fun to watch. Six Rangers all using Barrage is really entertaining. In a low level area you can launch 6 into a group and they all die at once. Worth watching at least once.

To kill stuff?
Ummm... I'd say, barrage,
Why?
Cause it's spammable, has a damage +, and it's easy to use.
It kills stuff nicely.
I have a barrage build here somewhere...
Here it is!

Good luck buddy

Best: Oath Shot - Recharges all those long skills, great for any ranger who wants to deal consistent damage
Worst: Poison Arrow - 100 damage over 15~ seconds? No thanks. I'd rather deal 100 damage all at once.

Oath Shot suXzors for dealing dmg dude. All it is used for is to recharge whirling def, or traps.
Poison Arrows is good condition spamming.

I'm fairly new to playing the Ranger class. I will agree remmeh. These two seem to be used the most often and Poison is devestating in PvP. As far as Oath Shot. I've never used it, but it does seem like a waste of an elite.

I would have to say barrage and spike trap for trappers, I also like poison arrow and escape for ranger runners

Depends on the build, of course.
Interrupt build: Punishing Shot (or: Practiced Stance + Choking Gas + TF)
Spirit build: Oath Shot
AoE build: Barrage + some magic buff
DPS build: Quick Shot
Flag runner build: Escape
Trapper build: Spike Trap (or: Escape, Oath Shot)
Pet build: Ferocious Strike
All of these are good. The best ranger elite? I'm partial to Oath Shot, because it does something that no other skill/role can do. And because, uh.. I was a spirit spammer.

Oath shot ftw
I can't believe the slagging that oath shot is taking here, it's a great skill!
And a must for anyone who traps!
Barrage is my fave so far and melandru's arrows rocks too!
Now i just need to cap poison arrow(is it hard?) and i can't say i'm that too impressed with spike trap. (take oath shot instead if ya trap)

Oath Shot is godly. It has many very powerful combos like Mantra of Signets+SÃgnet of Weariness.
Crippling Shot is nice, spammable cripple, very used on runners in GvG.
Punishing Shot, goes well with Dual Shot to spike.
Spike Trap is good on a trapper.
Poison Arrow is crap, Apply Poison is almost better.
Barrage isn't too bad, I just personally don't like it, because spreading out takes away alot of your dmg.

Seems pretty obvious to me. Oath Shot is a fantastic skill, but only with the right build. And it's simply not what he's looking for.
For just pure damage, I'd go with either Barrage with Judge's Insight, or take along Punishing Shot + Read the Wind + Dual Shot. You'll get good DPS with both of those, IMO.

PVE or IWAY/smiteball destruction: barrage
interuption build: punishing shot
condition-spamming: crippling shot (kindleGREAT with apply poison and the occasional hunters shot; this combo, imo, highly exceeds the effectiveness of poison arrow)
trap build: obviously spiked trap
fragility build: incendiary arrows
oath shot: great for ranger stance-tank build (excellent to use with determined shot, if you know how to make it miss)
practiced stance: really good for teams who like to carry a cholking-gas ranger.

No one mentioned quick shot. If you use it right after you release an arrow its like shooting an two arrows at once. Its very spammable and cheap enery cost. Compatable with preparations. Great for a machine gunner build.
IMO all of the ranger elites are fun/good. its all a matter of preference.
I usually go with Punishing shot because I enjoy interupting and the damage is nice too.

Broad Head Arrow:This elite skill dazes your target upon a successful hit.
We dont know what the cost will be or the recharge but any skill that gives dazes without any required condition is gonna be one of the skill everyone will shout for a nerf, but until then i am gonna enjoy it.

Depends whether you mean pve or pvp. While barrage is great in pve,it's rather waeak in pvp.Punishin shot after Dual is a nice spike, with some heavy prepping of course.
